Our Board of Directors is a 100% giving board. This means that all operational costs are financially covered by board members, so every dollar of your donation will go directly to funding classroom grants through our endowment. The NPSF Board of Directors is made up of community members, parents, and alumni who are committed to investing in academic excellence for the students and teachers of Noble Public Schools.

 
 
 

Sarah Soell, President

Sarah is the Executive Director for the Down Syndrome Association of Central Oklahoma. As a parent of a child with Down syndrome, she is a s a tireless advocate for the Down syndrome community. Prior to DSACO, Sarah worked for the University of Oklahoma as the associate vice president for Public Affairs for 17 years, where she coordinated numerous events and projects, advertising, and various other media related activities. Sarah was a member of the 2003 Leadership Norman Class and was selected as Oklahoma Magazine 40 under 40 in April 2008. In 2020, Sarah was a KFOR News Channel 4 Remarkable Women Finalist. She and her husband, Preston, have 3 children that are part of the NPS community. Sarah never turns down a hug and will always ensure individuals with Down syndrome are accepted, respected, included and given the opportunity and choice to create their own meaningful pathway to success.

Matt Whitehead, Vice President

Matt has been a Noble resident for the past six years and has one child in Pre-K at Noble public schools and another at the Bear Hollow Early Learning Center. With his wife bringing over 10 years of experience as an educator in Oklahoma's public school system, education holds a significant place in their lives. Matt's evolution from a 10 year career as a police officer to a senior software engineer at a major insurance company reflects a dedication to continuous personal and professional growth. As a graduate of a small rural school in Granite, Oklahoma, he works to lend his expertise to assist students from rural districts in pursuing careers in technology and provides enterprise-level technical guidance to small non-profit groups. Matt also serves on the board of advisors for the Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology, contributing to curriculum alignment with industry standards and offering valuable insights to software engineering program participants. In his various roles, Matt hopes to contribute to the enhancement of both the local community and the public education system.

Josh Green, Treasurer

Josh worked at Noble Public Schools all throughout college. He received his BS in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Oklahoma. After many years leading IT at various companies he started StratusGreen in 2018. As CEO he has led the organization to phenomenal growth being recognized as 768 on the Inc 5000 list of the fastest growing private companies in the United States. He thrives on building highly scalable teams and products that operate with maximum results and minimal cost.  Mr. Green is focused on building his company and giving back to his community. He has been married to Melissa Green, a teacher at NPS, since 2007 and has two daughters, Ella and Claire, who both attend Noble Public Schools.

Mendy Schmerer, Secretary/Events

Mendy Schmerer, graduate of class of 1996 and a 12 year senior (13 really, to include kindergarten!), is proud to call Noble home. She holds two degrees from the University of Oklahoma and serves as the Director for the Office of Student Financial Aid at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. She is married to George, and their girls, Abagail and Evalyn, are in Noble schools. Knowing her kids attend the same schools she did, and are often taught by her former classmates, is something that Mendy appreciates very much. They are active members of First Baptist Noble. Mendy treasures the small town feel that Noble still retains and loves being able to eat out or shop in Noble and see friends and classmates.

 

Cindy Simpson, Events

Cindy is a graduate of Noble Public Schools class of 1993. She is currently employed at the University of Oklahoma where she works as a Financial Analyst for the Budget and Financial Planning department. She has worked for the University for over 17 years. Cindy is married to Alan Simpson. They have two daughters, Taylor, and Sarah who both attended Noble Public Schools. Cindy enjoys spending time with her family, attending musicals, and a good DIY project.

Kristen Caruso, Finance

Kristen is a 1996 graduate of Noble Public Schools. She received her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Oklahoma and her Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. She is currently teaching at the University of Oklahoma as the Lecturer in Management for the Price College of Business where she serves on the Board of Advisors for the Management and International Business Division. Kristen joined the NPS Foundation Board of Directors in 2015 and currently serves as the vice-president. Kristen’s passion for public education often finds her at the Oklahoma State Capitol advocating for Noble Public Schools, as well as public rural and urban schools throughout Oklahoma. Kristen and her husband Darin have one child, Abby, who is the 4th generation of her family to attend Noble Public Schools. 

Christy Russell, Grants & Scholarships

Christy is a 2003 graduate of Noble Public Schools. In 2006 she married Michael Russell and they made their home in Norman. Together they explored higher education and different career paths. As they planned for a family they were drawn to Noble’s small town charm, excellent schools, and the overwhelming feeling of home. Today they have two sons, Conner and Asher, attending Noble schools. The Russells believe that choosing Noble was a crucial and pivotal move for the growth and success of their family’s endeavors. Christy and Michael own and operate a local business, Thin Line Materials, offering concrete services and supplying aggregate and decorative rocks used in landscaping and construction. They love witnessing and supporting the dynamic trajectory of growth that Noble schools exhibit. Christy learned first hand that, while college is often the assumed next step following high school graduation, the road to success has onramps just as numerous and unique as the individuals who take them. As a result she is passionate about educating young people of the many post secondary options available such as trade schools, apprenticeships, the military, entrepreneurship, etc, and empowering them to choose the option that best suits their ambitions. 

Aysha Prather,

Grants & Scholarships

Aysha is a graduate of public schools in Whittier, California, and holds degrees in biology and entomology from public universities in California, South Carolina, and Minnesota. She and her family live with two dogs, three cats, three goats, and a few dozen chickens. The children attend Noble and Norman Public Schools. The animals are home-schooled. 

 

Josh Alinger, Donor Relations

Josh is a 12 year senior and 2003 graduate of Noble High School. After graduation, Josh joined the United States Navy, where he served two deployments on a naval aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf. While enlisted Josh married, another Noble alumni, Christine Bassett. After seven years of service the couple moved their growing family back to Noble where Josh began a career in the oil and gas industry. In this time Josh completed his bachelors degree in business leadership and his masters degree in business administration. Josh, Christine, and their three children, then moved to Alaska for three years, after which they return to Noble once again. Today, Josh is a local business owner who joined the NPS Foundation in 2022 in order to serve the community and give back to a school system that has given so much to his entire family. 

Meegan Holman, Donor Relations

Meegan has been a Noble Bear since 7th grade and graduated in 1984. She moved to Dallas after graduation and lived there, then Mesa, AZ for several years. Meegan returned in 1995 to marry a fellow Noble Bear, Scot Holman, and their family has been here since then. Meegan and Scot have three daughters who attended Noble Public Schools.  The two oldest graduated in 2007 and 2019 and the youngest will graduate in 2025. Meegan got involved with the Foundation after becoming passionate about the future of public schools in our state. 

Trey Roberts, Media/Marketing

Trey is a graduate of Noble Public Schools - a 12 year senior and Class of 1995. He is an active member of Crosspointe Church, a leader in BSA Scouts and advocates for foster children through Royal Family Kids. Trey and Dari have been married for 24 years. Their daughter Rylee graduated Noble Public Schools in 2020 and son Reese will graduate in 2024.  Both of his kids are very involved in school programs that have been a big influence to who they are today. Trey says he loves being a part of the NPS Foundation because it allows him the opportunity to give back to those Noble Public Schools employees that have helped his family so much.

 

Erika Wright, Media/Marketing

Erika is a graduate of the NPS Class of 1990. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, she chose a different career path but is still passionate about supporting public education in her community, state, and abroad. Through her work as co-founder of the non-profit Somebody’s Mama, Erika helped raised funds to build multiple schools in West Africa, India and Cambodia. She has continued her education advocacy locally by giving time to the NPS Foundation and statewide through her work as a trustee for the Oklahoma Foundation of Excellence and as founder of the Oklahoma Rural Schools Coalition. She is a member of Leadership Oklahoma’s Class 37. Erika and her husband Matt have 2 children that attend Noble Public Schools.

Frank Solomon, Superintendent,

Ex-officio Member

Frank Solomon has more than three decades of experience in education. In the spring of 2001, Mr. Solomon accepted the position of Noble High School Principal, proudly serving in that position for over 13 years. During his tenure as NHS principal, he also served several years as the Athletic Director, Transportation Director and as the Alternative School Principal. In the fall of 2014, he moved to Central Office as Assistant Superintendent. In July 2015, Mr. Solomon was named Superintendent of Noble Public Schools. Mr. Solomon earned his Bachelor and Master of Education degrees from the University of Oklahoma. He has three grown children, all of whom attended Noble Schools grades K-12, and five grandchildren, with two that are currently attending Noble Public Schools.
